Recycled Crayon Valentines

Ever wonder what to do with all those broken & half used crayons? Now you can recycle them into fun shapes.

I didn't want my preschooler to bring candy to her classmates for Valentine's Day, so this is a perfect alternative!

All you need is crayons, a silicon baking pan & oven.
Let's get started!

Set your oven to 200 degrees. Remove the paper wrappings and break up the crayons. Add them to the silicon molds and place in oven for 8-10 minutes.

Once all the crayons have melted, you'll get something like this. Next throw the mold in the freezer for a few minutes so the crayons can harden faster.

Pop them out of the mold & you've got yourself some super cute new crayons!

We printed these free cute cards from The Long Thread. A small piece of tape or dab of hot glue holds them onto the card.

We wrapped them in cellophane treat bags and added some ribbon.
A great Valentine treat without any sugar involved!

Super Bowl 2011

So what was your favorite part of the Super Bowl?
The food?
The commercials?
or {gasp} the actual game?

Me? All of the above along with seconds! Yum!
You should have seen the look on my husbands face when I walked in the door with a HUGE piece of sod. "Yes honey, it is for the party. No I don't want to talk about it, just trust me"!

My infamous party-planning last words. Haha!
Mini pennants displayed all over!

Choose your side of the room wisely!

Lots & lots of yummy food. I made the snack boxes perfect for holding a pair of chocolate chip cookies!

My lil cheerleader & I!

We had a blast ~ Hope you enjoyed a fun game day too!

DIY Valentine Heart Garland

Love is in the air, can you feel it?
I'm so excited for Valentine's Day this year. I love love! And now that my little girl is old enough to do crafts, we've been doing a fun new project almost every day (whew)!

To make the garland, you'll just need a few items:
Cardstock Paper
Paper cutter or scissors
Hot glue gun (or glue dots if little ones are helping)

First cut the cardstock into strips. I made ours about 3/4"

Next fold the strips in half

Fold the two ends and apply a dab of glue to hold the center pieces together. Now you've got yourself a heart. Repeat (again and again...)!

Once you've made a plethora of hearts, apply a dab of glue on the outside of one heart and attach another. Repeat until you've made the garland your desired length.

That's it! So bright, colorful & fun! We made this garland in about 30 minutes & cost less than $0.20!
We took it to her school and it's now proudly displayed in her classroom! The kids loved it. Yeah!
