Ebelskiver Love

I have a new minor obsession, ebelskivers! They've become our latest weekend breakfast treat and they also make an awesome late night snack!
William-Sonoma sells an amazing pan & box mix to make these little gems but I recently discovered Trader Joes sells them pre-made in the freezer section. Just throw them in the microwave for a few seconds and Oh. My. Goodness.
Don't live near a Trader Joes? My condolences, you might consider moving... just sayin'!

There are a variety of ways to eat them. We sprinkle ours with powdered sugar and top them with homemade jams & jellies. We also serve them with warm chocolate sauce & fresh whipped cream...Heaven!

To avoid slipping into a chocolate & carb coma, I also serve some yummy fresh fruit.

And no breakfast would be complete without bacon. But as to not to feel completely guilty of eating a dozen balls, this time I opted for turkey bacon. Delish!

Have you ever tried Ebelskivers? How do you eat them?

DIY Bakers Twine

Are you hooked on Bakers Twine? I love that it gives whatever project it touches a funky, retro look. I was so excited when I stumbled across a video from UKMaryanne on how to make it yourself! So I decided to give it a try...

What you'll need:
  • white crochet thread #10 ($3 for 400 yards)
  • markers
  • ruler
  • painters tape
Wrap the thread around the ruler. Slide it all together so there are no gaps, but make sure they don't overlap.

Take your marker and draw 3 lines on the front. You'll need to make sure the ink saturates the thread, so I went over it a couple times. Next turn the ruler over & do the same thing to the back. Remove the thread & hang it to dry. I gave it about 10 minutes before I started working with it.

So quick, simple & cute!
Not exactly the real thing, but much cheaper & I love being able to create any color at my fingertips and in just a few minutes.

Dolly Parton's Imagination Library

Are you participating in Dolly Parton's Imagination Library? I recently discovered this awesome book program & wanted to share the details! If you have a child 5 years or under, then they may be eligible to get a free book in the mail every month. Yahoo! All you need to do is go HERE, type in your zip code and see if there is a sponsor in your area. If so, you'll be able to register your child and start receiving free books. It's that simple!

My little girl loves getting her new book each month! Her face lights up when she checks the mailbox & we sit down right away & read the book cover to cover! Check it out!
